Titles are automatically deleted at the end of the borrowing period, so there are never any late fees for digital materials!
eAudiobooks cannot be checked out from other libraries, and cannot be checked out by anyone who does not have a Waukegan Library card in good standing.
RBDigital adds new titles throughout the year, so keep checking back!
Most RBDigital audiobooks can be listened to by multiple people at the same time, so you don't have to wait! However, some titles can only be checked out by one person at a time, but you can place a hold on these titles if they're unavailable.
eAudiobooks can be renewed once per title.

You need an active Waukegan Public Library card to download digital materials. If you live in Waukegan and don’t have a library card, get one! If you live outside Waukegan, try contacting your home library to learn about their eBook collection.
NOTE: We are currently experiencing issues with verifying patron accounts through RB Digital and are working to find a solution. In the meantime, you can register your library card with RBDigital from a computer at the Library. Once registered, you can download titles from wherever you are.
2. Download RBDigital Media Manager.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen to download the RBDigital Media Manager. Click the correct option for your operating system (Windows or Mac) and go through the installation process.
3. Log in to Media Manager
Once the program is installed, you will be asked to log in to the Media Manager using the account information you just created.
4. Browse/search for a title
Now you can search for a title on the RBDigital website! Click on the Menu option in the top right corner, and click Audiobooks. You can browse through popular, best-selling, and recommended lists, or you can click + View By Genre. You can also search for a specific title or author by clicking on the magnifying glass in the top right corner.
5. Check out & download a title
Click on the book you'd like to download and click Check Out. When the download box appears, make sure it says Open With RBDigital Media Manager. If it doesn't, select the Media Manager from the drop down menu.
6. Using Media Manager
If the title does not automatically show up in the Media Manager, click the Refresh button at the top of the screen. To transfer the title to an eReader or other device, connect the device to the computer and click Download and Transfer.
NOTE: When you check out and try to download some titles, you may notice a note that says Microsoft does not support DRM encryption and cannot download the title as a zip file. Just go to the RBDigital Media Manager and click the Refresh button at the top of the screen. Your title should appear in the Media Manager as usual.
7. Returning a book through the Media Manager
To return a title early, open the Media Manager and click the Return button.
8. Returning a book through the website
To return a book through the RBDigital website, make sure you are logged in to your account, and click the Menu button. Click Checked Out, and click on the book you'd like to return. Click Return towards the bottom of the screen.
9. Place a hold
Many RBDigital titles can be checked out by multiple people at the same time, but some can only be checked out by one person at a time. If one of these titles is checked out, you'll see a Hold option listed below the title.
